Day 57/100
A picture of you in your backyard.
The joy of living in an apartment...the world is your backyard. Why should that change when you "own" a piece of property? God has given us a wonderful world of possibilities. A world fit for praise, worship, work, play, rest and relaxation. I'll take what my Father has set before me, and gladly explore to see what else awaits.

It's Summer, but It's Cold Out
Day 56/100
A picture of you all bundled up.
Fret not dear reader, this is not some winter horror tale. It is I, John, your lowly writer donning winter garb. The winter cap, scarf and jacket all came from the Gap. The jacket is part of the RED line of products. I love how it feels when I wear it, however the homeless look can be quite off-putting. The pants are flannel lined, and socks by SmartWool guarded by Ariat boots.
This picture was taken during our most awesome snowfall in about 10 years. That speckled ball is the beginning of my snowman base. By the time it was rolled into place, it stood just shy of hip high. When the snowman was fully assembled he stood taller than myself. A whole carrot as a nose with blue bottle tops for eyes. After such hard work I had warmed up and unbundled a bit, thus freeing my scarf for our frozen friend. Twas great fun, and oh how I miss the cold.

Date Night
Day 55/100
A picture of you with a date.
"Out" on a date? No. My date? Yes, yes she is. My wife and girlfriend all in one. This could potentially have been a date night, and most of our dates end up with us taking pictures of each other, not together, if any pictures are taken at all. Date nights are more for us. If we want to share those nights it will be in the company of friends and not through digital social networking. Then again, particularly superb dates do get a "status update". I must admit that I don't treat my wife as much as most do, or maybe as much as I should, looks like some chocolates and massages are in order for this weekend.
Maybe she'll want to do dinner at The Village Grill.

Spoiled or Blessed
Day 54/100
A picture of you on your last vacation.
That's me, in the hoodie, in a pool. It's how I roll. We had just finished throwing the kids around the pool and now I was my turn. My wife just doesn't know her own strength, and I'm going in a direction to land on my niece.
This was one vacation that definitely spoiled me. We took a trip down to the Dominican Republic for a week. We stayed in a four bedroom villa, each room with an on suite bath. There were two outdoor showers, an amazing pool with wonderful landscaping and plenty of places to explore. Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets everyday. An amazingly pleasant staff that kept the place spotless (even with a family of 9 tearing it up right behind them) and a cook that had breakfast and dinner waiting on us everyday. Got to taste sugarcane for the first time as well as cocoa beans straight from the plant (they were surprisingly tart).
We also spent a day with a local school during for their summer games. A ton of fun and a huge wake-up call that spoken Spanish is not the same depending on where you go. So if you learned Spanish from a Castillean or Mexican speaking teacher, you are in for an awakening in the Dominican. It won't be a rude awakening, but definitely a surprise.
I leave you with a picture of my beautiful wife on our trip.

All Gussied Up
Day 52/100
A picture of you dressed up.
A picture of you dressed up.
Sunday dress, dress pants I mean. I don't know about whether or not I look nice, but man, the apartment is amazing! Check out that entertainment center and bookshelf, I put those together. Why yes! those are real movie reels on the wall and painted green to add character. That quilt on the red couch is freakin' sah-weet! Mucho thanks to my wife for making it all look so pristine. But I digress. So let me see if I can give an accurate break down here:
Shirt: Banana Republic (60% off sale)
Pleat-Free Pants: Banana Republic (also)
Belt: Banana Republic (it's only a minor compulsion)
Shoes: Dockers (40% off at Dillards)
"I Love my Wife" Coffee Mug: Family Christian Stores (a gift)
Wow, that was insanely easy. If that was a girl doing that I would have had to list about 4 different accessories. With that in mind, go check out my friend Rochelle over at rochelle approved. She has some sassy styles and a thrifty mind. Plus, I think a woman that can go from stillettos to biker boots is qualified to give fashion advice in my mind.
